I have long heard the siren-song of the arts and have never been far from artful expression.  My passion for creating music is what led me to an education in digital audio engineering, which in turn, introduced me to yet another avenue for expression: sound for film.  The layered secrets of sound design and foley, the keys to a perfect voiceover, scoring for film, recording and mixing techniques…I loved all of it. I relished being the man behind the curtain. Something clicked. I belonged.

Upon completing my education, I began working as an audio engineer and occasional voiceover talent at a wonderful creative firm in Seattle called Lustre Communications.  During my tenure there, I was able to work on creative projects of varying scope for both bigger, national clients and smaller, local clients and became enraptured with the creative side of the business.  The brainstorming sessions were full of creative energy and idea exchanges. Even the challenges of production and racing against impossible deadlines had their allure; they galvanized the team and created an electric work environment. I have craved that electricity and felt it’s magnetism ever since.

My evolution as a creative has led me into different roles in production and post-production and so I’ve been able to appreciate the progression of media creation from different vantage points. I still enjoy wearing those hats but I also have been afforded the opportunity to work with some wildly talented people along the way and have taken those relationships with me into my freelance career. Today I’m a few steps back, taking in the big picture. I’m listening intently to find the story that needs being told and am dedicated to telling it with inspiring creativity and uncompromising passion.

The Wave Still is both my dream and the crucible of dreams where the wildest of ideas are tested. Whether ideas are being added to or subtracted from, shaken up and strained out, crossed out and rewritten, crumpled up or ironed out, mixed with, skimmed from, chewed on or spat out, baked in, blended, percolated, hydrated, separated, boiled down, saturated, filtrated, or stirred vigorously and served over ice with a candied, citrus garnish: creating is my muse and I love every second of it.
